Compare generated images before you pick a look

A look is easier to choose than to describe. Before you commit a whole video to one style, generate the same subject a few ways and put the results side by side. The Image tab is a good place for that board, and everything on it lives in your project.
Generate the variations
- Open the left panel, choose AI Gen, then Image.
- Write a prompt for your subject. Keep the sentence the same each time and change only the style words, for example "a lighthouse on a cliff at dusk, watercolor", then "35mm film photo", then "flat vector poster".
- Click Generate image after each version. The button stays live while earlier ones render, so you can send several in a row.
- Watch the status rows above the grid. Each one shows your prompt and Generating… with a running clock. A failed image shows its error and a trash button to dismiss it.
Match the Aspect ratio pill to your project first, so every image on the board has the same shape.
Compare them
Finished images fill the Generated grid, newest first, two to a row. Hover a tile to see its name, which is your own prompt. Click the small expand button in the corner to see it full size, and press Esc to close it.
Judge the board on the things that carry across a whole video:
- Color palette and contrast. Will white text stay readable on it?
- Level of detail. A busy style gets noisy once it moves.
- How well it fits the topic and your audience.
Click a tile once to highlight it with a blue ring. That only marks your place in the grid. Nothing is added to the timeline until you drag a tile or choose Use in the expanded view.
Start from a stock prompt
Under the generator, the Stock Images section has a Search… box and category chips. Each tile carries the prompt that made it. Click a tile and that prompt loads into your prompt box, ready to edit. This replaces your current text and clears any attached references, so click it before you add your own references. Drag a stock tile into the prompt box if you want its picture as a reference.
Keep the winners
Every generated tile has a … button (More actions) with these items:
- Use this prompt reloads the words so you can change one detail and run it again.
- Copy reference copies the tile's @ handle.
- Add to Media moves it into the Media panel with your own files.
- Add to Library copies it into the shared Library for other projects.
- Delete removes the picture. If a timeline clip uses it, that clip goes too, and Undo cannot bring the file back.
Carry the look forward
The winner's @ handle, such as @i2, works in any prompt. Click the handle pill on the tile to copy it. Paste it into a new image prompt to keep the palette and mood, or into a video prompt with Ingredients selected, where the picture acts as an anchor for the clip.
Use the handle in a sentence that states the job: "A close-up of a lantern in the style of @i2." Then judge the new image against the board the same way.
