Cut a Teaser With a Riser, a Hit and a Title Drop

A teaser promises something and stops before it delivers. The structure is simple: calm shots first, faster shots as it builds, a rising sound that peaks on a hit, and a title on the same frame. This recipe builds that climb on a cinematic frame.
Shape the picture
- Create a project. Open Aspect ratio in the left panel and choose Cinematic · 2:1, or Widescreen · 16:9 for a taller frame.
- Open Media, press Upload and add your five to eight strongest moments.
- Trim each clip with Split and drop the left side and Split and drop the right side. Cut later shots shorter than earlier ones so the pace quickens toward the end.
- Open Transitions in the left panel, which clears any clip selection, then click the round button between the last two clips. In the Transitions tab, under the Fade heading, click Dip to black. The dip opens a clean space for the title.
Finish the picture before the sounds and titles. A transition overlaps the clips on either side, so the edit gets shorter and everything after it moves earlier.
Build the climb
- Park the playhead on the first frame of the last shot. This is the frame where the title lands.
- Open Sound FX in the left panel and stay on Library. Type "riser" in Search sound FX and drag the result onto an empty audio row.
- Drag the riser until its right end snaps to the playhead. Snapping pulls clip edges to the playhead and to other edges, so the build ends on the frame.
- Search "impact", preview a few rows, and drag a hit onto the audio row, then drag its bar until its left edge snaps to the playhead.
Land the title
- With the playhead on that frame, press T.
- Open the Text tab in the right panel and type the title. Open Size and make it large.
- Open Animate, keep In selected and pick Zoom.
- Open Effects in the left panel, stay on Moving and drag Flash onto the last shot. A new effect covers the whole clip it lands on, so drag its right edge left until it lasts a fraction of a second.
Grade the whole thing
- In Effects switch from Moving to Filters.
- Drag Blockbuster onto the first clip. It covers that clip.
- Press Fit in the timeline toolbar, then drag the effect's right edge to the end of the last clip. The edge snaps to cuts. Effects share one row, so stretching it pushes the Flash to the right; drag the Flash bar down to a new row and back onto the title frame.
- Click the effect and use the Amount slider in the right panel to set how strong the look is.
Score and trim the tails
- Put the playhead at the start. Open AI Gen, choose Audio, then Music.
- In the Sample library pick Cinematic, drag a card onto an empty audio row below the sound effects, then drag its bar left until it snaps to the start.
- Click the music clip, open Volume in the right panel and lower it so the riser and the hit read clearly.
- Sounds that run past the end of the picture stretch the export. Click the music, and the hit if it runs long, then park the playhead where the title ends and press Split and drop the right side on each.
- Press Export, choose a preset and press Export video.
