Edit an Unboxing Video With a Reveal Zoom and Sound Hits

An unboxing turns on one moment: the lid lifts and the product shows. Everything before it exists to lead into it. This recipe cuts the lead-in short, marks the reveal with a zoom, and adds sounds that land on the right frame.
Build the sequence
- Create a project. Open Aspect ratio in the left panel and choose Widescreen · 16:9, or Vertical · 9:16 for short-form.
- Open Media, press Upload and add your clips in order: sealed box, opening, product close-up.
- Trim the waiting. At the first useful frame of a clip press Split and drop the left side. At the last useful frame press Split and drop the right side.
- If the lighting in a clip looks flat, select it, open Color in the right panel and press Auto. It fits a starting grade, and the sliders stay open for changes.
Trim first. Dropping a side removes whatever sat in that stretch, effects and sounds included.
Mark the reveal
- Park the playhead inside the clip where the product appears. Open Effects in the left panel, stay on Moving, and drag Zoom onto the timeline over that clip. A new effect covers the whole clip it lands on.
- Park the playhead where the move should begin and drag the effect's left edge to it. The edge snaps to the playhead. Then park the playhead where the move should end and drag the right edge to it. The zoom now spans only the reveal.
- With the zoom selected, the right panel shows a frame preview with a blue puck. Drag the puck onto the product.
- Under Depth choose Shallow, Moderate or Deep. The Speed slider sets how many seconds the push-in takes, and the far left cuts straight to the close shot. The zoom eases in, holds, then eases back out before the effect ends.
Add the sounds
- Open Sound FX and stay on Library. Type "paper" in Search sound FX and press play on a row to hear it.
- Drag the sound you like onto the timeline at the moment the wrapping comes off.
- Search "impact" and drag a hit to the frame where the product appears.
- Release each sound on an empty audio row below any existing audio, and it stays exactly where you drop it. A sound added with its plus button lands at the playhead on the first audio row and slides right when another sound already sits there.
Name the product
- Move the playhead just after the reveal and press T.
- Open the Text tab in the right panel and type the product name. Double-clicking the title in the preview works too.
- Open the Animate tab, keep In selected and pick Pop.
Check the result
- Press Back to start, then Space, and watch. Press Esc to stop and clear the selection.
- If the hit lands late, drag its audio bar until its left edge snaps to the playhead parked on the reveal frame.
- Press Export, choose a preset and press Export video. The render runs in the background, so you can keep editing.
