Keep a working project and a delivery project

Once a client or an audience has seen a cut, that exact version should stay put while you keep experimenting. DepCut projects are easy to copy, so you can split the job in two: a working project where the edit keeps moving, and a delivery project that holds what you shipped.
What a duplicate carries
Duplicate makes a new project beside the original. The copy has:
- The whole cut, with every clip, title, caption and setting.
- Its own copy of the media files.
- The Details text: caption, tags, sound title and Notes.
- The same folder as the original.
- The name of the original plus "copy".
It starts with an empty Exports list. Renders stay with the project that made them.
Make the delivery project
- Finish and review the cut in the working project.
- On the Projects page, open Project actions on its tile, the three-dot menu, and choose Duplicate. A cloud copy waits in a queue, so give it a moment to appear.
- Choose Rename on the copy and give it a clear label, such as "Tips 03 delivery".
- Open the copy and go to Details. Check the caption, tags and sound title.
- Scroll to Notes and clear any Published date or links that came across from the original.
- Export from the copy.
Export from the copy, keep revising the original
The delivery project's Exports list then holds only the files you sent. The working project can collect drafts, test renders and half-finished attempts without confusing anyone, including you. When someone asks for "the version we approved", it sits in one list under a project with a name that says so.
Go back to the working project for the next round. When the new cut is approved, duplicate it again and name the copy "Tips 03 delivery v2". The first delivery project stays exactly as it was, with its own media and its own exports.
Share the frozen copy
In a cloud project, Share in the top bar opens "Share project". Press Copy link to get a read-only link. A new share is Restricted, so only invited people who are signed in can open it. Add the reviewer's email, or set General access to Anyone with the link, then paste the link where the reviewer will find it. Adding an email address only saves it to the share, so the link is what you send.
The shared video is rebuilt from the project's latest cut after you leave the editor. A link on the delivery project points at a cut nobody is editing, and a link on the working project follows every later change. Pick the project that matches what you want the reviewer to see.
Retire the working project when you are done
Deleting a project removes its whole folder, including its media files and exports, and the confirmation says so. The delivery project holds its own copies, so deleting the working project after a hand-off leaves the delivery intact. Check the delivery project's Exports list first and confirm the final file is there.
Try the split on your next job
Open DepCut and duplicate your next finished cut before the first export. Name it for the hand-off and ship from there.
