Make a Quote Card Video With an AI Background and Music

A quote card video is a still design that moves just enough: a background, a line that arrives, and a track underneath. You can build one from nothing in a single project. This recipe makes a square card with a generated background and a quote that types itself in.
Make the background
- Create a project. Open Aspect ratio in the left panel and choose Square · 1:1.
- Open AI Gen and choose Image. Describe a calm backdrop with room for text, such as a soft paper texture in warm gray with an empty center.
- The Aspect ratio pill under the prompt starts on the shape closest to your project. Check that it reads Square, then press Generate image. Image generation spends account credits.
- When the picture appears under Generated, drag its tile onto the timeline.
- Select the clip and open Trim in the right panel. Press and drag right on the Trim end bar. The farther you drag, the faster the card grows, and releasing stops it. A still has no source length to run out of, so it can run as long as the quote needs.
Set the quote
- Press Esc, put the playhead at the start and press T.
- Open the Text tab in the right panel and type the quote. Press Enter to break lines where you want them. Short lines read better on a square.
- Open Size and raise it until the quote fills the card comfortably. Text is centered by default, and the Align tab changes that.
- Open Words, click the one word that carries the meaning, and press Bold or pick a Color for it. Shift-click a second word to style a run of words.
- Open Animate, keep In selected and pick Typewriter. The Length slider sets how long the typing takes.
- Drag the right edge of the title bar to the end of the card so the quote stays up for the full length.
Credit the author
- In the Text tab add a blank line, then the author's name on the last line.
- Open Words, click the first word of the name and Shift-click its last word.
- Pick a softer Color so the name sits back from the quote.
Put a track under it
- Open AI Gen, choose Audio, then Music.
- Choose Instrumental in the toggle under the prompt. Describe the mood, such as slow piano, warm and spacious, and press Generate music. This also spends credits.
- The Sample library below the generator holds bundled tracks. Pick Piano, hover a card and press its plus button with the playhead at the start.
- A track that runs past the picture stretches the export. Click the music, park the playhead where the card ends and press Split and drop the right side.
- Click the music again, open Fade out in the right panel and drag the slider so the track tapers with the picture.
- Press Export, choose a preset and press Export video.
Make a set
Duplicate the project, swap the quote and the author, and export the next card. Open DepCut and make the first one.
