Read the Projects page in gallery and list view

The Projects page is the front door to your work. You can reach it from the back arrow in the editor's top bar, or from the See all link on the Dashboard's Projects row once you have more than eight projects. Two views show the same projects, and each answers a different question.
Gallery view
Each project is a tall 9:16 tile. The tile carries:
- The project name, small, in the top-left corner.
- The length of the cut, in the bottom-right corner.
- A Mac or cloud icon in the bottom-left corner when you have both homes available.
- A three-dot menu named Project actions in the top-right corner.
Under the tile you see the file size and the last edit, such as "3h ago". Older edits show a date. The newest edit always comes first, so the project you touched last is the top-left tile.
Hover over a tile and it plays a small preview render of your edit. Until DepCut has rendered one, the tile plays the first clip.
List view
List view puts facts ahead of pictures. Columns read Name, Length, Size and Edited, with the row menu at the far end and a New project row at the bottom. Use it when you want to compare sizes and edit dates at a glance.
Switch with the two buttons at the top right, Gallery view and List view. They appear once you have at least one project.
Select several projects
- Shift-click a tile or a row to add it to the selection. On a Mac, Cmd-click works too. Click again to remove it.
- In gallery view, press on empty space and drag a box over tiles to sweep them in. Hold Shift or Cmd to keep the tiles already chosen.
- Click empty space to clear the selection.
- Drag any selected tile onto a folder tile. The whole group moves, and the drag label reads, for example, "3 projects".
A plain click on a tile opens the project as usual.
What the header buttons do
New folder creates a folder you can drag projects into. New project makes an Untitled project in the folder you have open, or at the top level, and takes you straight into the editor. Rename it from the top bar once you are inside.
Files and Quick tools make projects
Drop media files onto the page and each one becomes its own project, named after the file without its extension. Drop them on a folder tile to file them in that folder. A small Importing… pill follows the progress.
Above the grid sits a row of Quick tools: Add captions, Extract audio, Isolate voice, Isolate music, Add watermark and Mute audio. Each one takes an uploaded video and hands back a download. Behind the scenes every run creates a real project, and it stays in your list afterward. The two Isolate tools spend credits by the length of the video. Rename or delete the leftover projects when you are done with them.
Tidy as you go
Open the three-dot menu on any tile to Rename, Duplicate, move it to a folder or Delete it. A short tidy at the end of each week keeps the grid readable. Open DepCut, switch to list view and sort out the projects you no longer need.
