Save what your Agent chat generates before you delete it

When the Agent generates an image or a clip, it shows up as a card in the conversation. That card is where the media lives until you move it. Knowing the rule helps you keep what you like and clear out what you do not.
Chat media belongs to its thread
Media made by the Agent is tagged with the chat that asked for it. It appears on the cards in that thread, while the Media panel and the Image tab's Generated grid list other media. A render that finishes after you switch to another chat still files itself under the thread that asked.
The Agent places media on the timeline only when you ask. Say "put it first" or "add it after clip 3" in the request, or place the card yourself.
What a card can do
Hover a card to reveal two buttons in its corner. Expand opens the full-size view, and the … button (More actions) opens a menu:
- Add to timeline places the media on the timeline.
- Expand opens the large view. Double-clicking the card does the same.
- Copy reference copies an @ token for use in prompts.
- Add to Media moves it into the Media panel with your own files.
- Add to Library copies it into the shared Library, so other projects can use it.
- Open file opens the file in a new browser tab.
You can also drag a card straight onto the timeline.
Save the keepers
Three actions keep media safe from a thread deletion: placing it on the timeline, choosing Add to Media and choosing Add to Library. Work through them as a habit:
- Expand each card you like and decide whether it is a keeper.
- For clips you will cut with, drag them to the timeline.
- For pictures and sounds you might need later, choose Add to Media.
- For anything you want in other projects, choose Add to Library.
Once an item is on the timeline, you can point at it in a message as a clip, such as @c2. The @ menu lists chat-made media only after you place or file it.
Delete a thread on purpose
Click the clock icon (Past threads) at the top of the Agent panel. The Threads list shows each chat, named from its first message. Hover a row and click the trash icon (Delete thread).
Deleting a thread removes any media it still owns that no clip uses. That deletion cannot be undone. Clips already on the timeline keep their media. A multi-shot video run that the thread started is stopped and its plan is cleared, and clips already placed stay.
DepCut keeps the 30 most recent threads for each project. An older thread that still owns media is kept past that limit, so nothing disappears quietly. In a cloud project the threads are saved with your account, so they are there when you open the project on another device.
Start clean
Click the plus icon (New chat) for each new job. Short, focused threads make it easy to tell which cards matter, and you can delete a finished thread without second-guessing what is inside it.
File it before you leave
Open DepCut, expand the last card in your Agent chat and file it where you will find it.
