Share a DepCut Project for Review With a Link

Sending a rough cut for feedback usually means exporting, uploading and pasting a link to a file. DepCut offers a shorter path for cloud projects. You share the project itself, and the viewer opens a read-only copy of the preview and timeline in their browser. When you keep editing, the link follows your cut.
Where Share is available
The Share button sits in the top bar of any project stored in the cloud. It is greyed out until the timeline has a clip and every import has finished uploading, the same gate that the Export button uses. You can also open it from a project card: choose Share project in the card's menu on the projects home.
A project stored on your Mac does not show Share. If you want to share one, use the Cloud button in the top bar first. It opens Move to Cloud. That button copies the project and its media to the cloud and then removes the project from your Mac.
Set up the link
- Press Share to open the Share project dialog.
- Under People, type an email address and press Enter. Each invited address appears as a chip you can remove with its x.
- Under General access, choose Restricted or Anyone with the link. Restricted means "Only people you invite can view, signed in". Anyone with the link means "Anyone can view — no sign-in needed".
- Open Also share to add more than the basics. Viewers always get the preview and timeline, read-only. Switches add Chat, Media, AI generations, Subtitles and Details, which covers the caption, tags and notes.
- Press Copy link. The first copy creates the share, so the link works the moment it is on your clipboard.
What viewers see
A viewer sees only the surfaces you switched on. DepCut filters the project on its servers before sending it, so a switch that is off keeps that panel's content out of what the viewer receives. A viewer can play the cut and move through it with the keyboard, while every editing action stays with you.
For a review, leave Chat and Details off and switch Subtitles on. Reviewers can read the transcript while they watch, and they do not see your working notes.
Keep the link current
DepCut prepares a streamable copy of your cut for the link when you first share. When you keep editing, the copy refreshes once you close the editor or switch to another tab. Reviewers can open the link at any time.
End the share
Open Share again and press Stop sharing. The link stops working for everyone who had it. You can share the project again later.
Send the first link
Open a cloud project in DepCut, press Share, and send the link to the first person who needs to see the cut.
