Start an AI clip from a stock tile in AI Gen

An empty prompt box is the slowest part of AI video, especially when you wonder how much detail a shot needs. The stock tiles in AI Gen give you a starting point. Each tile is an AI-made sample clip stored with the exact prompt that produced it, and a click loads that prompt into the generate form for you to edit.
Find the tiles
- Click AI Gen in the left panel.
- Choose Video in the switcher at the top.
- Scroll below the Generate video button.
Two sections appear: Talking Characters and Stock Videos. Each shows six tiles. View all opens the whole section.
Inside a section you get a Search videos… box (Search characters… in the characters section) that matches the prompt text, the category and the tags. Stock Videos also has category chips: All, Business, Nature, Travel, City, Technology, Anime, Animal and Food & Drink. The All link at the top of a section takes you back.
Use a footage tile
Hover over a tile to play it. DepCut tries to play with sound and falls back to silent if your browser blocks it. A badge in the corner gives the sample's length in seconds, which tells you how long a shot the prompt produced. Click the Expand icon on a tile to open a larger view with the prompt written out and a Copy button (its tooltip reads Copy prompt). Read it to see how the shot was described.
Then click the tile. The prompt replaces what is in the box. Change the part you care about, such as the subject, the light or the camera move, and press Generate video. Generation runs on your DepCut account and spends credits. The panel notes that renders take a minute or two and that you can keep editing while it runs.
Use a talking character
A character tile switches the form into character mode:
- Click a tile in Talking Characters.
- A small chip shows the character's picture and name above the box.
- The prompt box now asks "What should they say?". Type the line you want spoken.
- Press Generate video.
The same person delivers your line. Click the X on the chip, titled "Leave character mode", to go back to a normal prompt.
Do the same with images
AI Gen, then Image, has a matching Stock Images section with a search box and the same eight category chips. Clicking a tile loads its prompt into the image form.
Keep the tiles useful
- Change one detail per attempt. Two changes at once make it hard to tell which one helped.
- Keep the sentence order of the tile's prompt and swap in your own subject.
- Use the Number of takes setting to render several versions at once and compare them. The button then reads, for example, Generate 2 videos.
- Keep a tile's prompt as a reference. The Copy button in the expanded view (tooltip: Copy prompt) saves it to your clipboard.
Try one
Open DepCut, go to AI Gen and Video, and click the tile closest to the shot you need. Edit one line and generate.
