DepCut MCP
Edit your DepCut projects — trim, caption, generate, assemble — from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. One remote server, your own API key, the same account access a signed-in tab has.
What it can do
Every tool runs against the project doc the editor itself edits — the same ~90 tools the in-app assistant has, minus anything that needs an open browser tab.
Edit the timeline
Trim, reorder, split, add transitions and overlays — every edit tool the Cut editor itself calls.
Captions
Generate and restyle captions across 11 visual presets, word-by-word highlighting included.
Generate images
generate_image renders a prompt and lands it as a project asset, spending this key's own credits.
Stock & library
Search bundled stock footage and characters, import a URL, or pull from your saved Library and templates.
Projects
List, open, rename, and manage every project in the account the key belongs to.
Video, voiceover, music
Not yet on this server — video is an async render with no job to reconnect to from a stateless call; voiceover and music need their own landing path.
Connect it
One endpoint, a Bearer token — your personal DepCut API key, the same one used for DepCut Vision. It carries this account’s own access and spends its own credits, nothing more.
https://depcut.com/api/mcpAuth: Authorization: Bearer dk_live_...
Claude Code
Run the command, or write the same server into a project’s .mcp.json to share it with a team.
claude mcp add --transport http depcut https://depcut.com/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"Claude Desktop
- Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Name it, and paste
https://depcut.com/api/mcpas the URL. - Under Authentication, choose “No sign-in.”
- Under Request headers, add Authorization with value
Bearer YOUR_API_KEY(the scheme included — Desktop sends it exactly as entered).
Request headers are a beta Desktop feature and may not show up for every account yet. Any other MCP client that supports a remote HTTP server with a custom header connects the same way — point it at the URL above with that one Authorization header.
